My love for gardens and getting outdoors began at the ripe young age of 15, having picked up a weekend job mowing the neighbours lawn. This would ultimately shape my life's passion.
As I pushed the lawnmower across the green expanse, I reveled in the satisfaction of transforming an unruly patch of grass into a neat and orderly lawn. And I made money doing it. A win-win in my book..
After continuing my studies, a golden opportunity arose when I secured a position as a groundskeeper at Hamilton Zoo in Rotokauri. I cultivated a better understanding of how to combine aesthetics with functional design.
My next gardening endeavour involved maintaining the farm and house gardens at thoroughbred horse racing stables, Pencarrow Stud. From here, a short distance away was a gardening role at landscaping company, Florida, located in Cambridge.
Learning the ropes from industry veterans, I absorbed their knowledge like a sponge and rose through the ranks to become GardenCare Manager, maintaining a variety of gardens of all sizes and needs for Florida's regular monthly clients.
From plant selection to plant maintenance and more, I transformed mundane spaces into breathtaking oases, uncovering the beauty within. Every garden was an opportunity to expand my repertoire and refine my skills.
After eight years, it was time for me to back myself and forge my own path - and thus, Growing Great Gardens Limited was born.
Armed with years of experience, an unyielding work ethic, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, I embarked on a mission to bring my happy place to my clients- across the Waikato, one garden at a time.
Word spread about the quality of my work, and a raft of new clients quickly filled up my calendar. From transforming small residential gardens to large commercial properties, Growing Great Gardens has become a trusted name in the landscaping industry.
